Since I decided to take part in the HAHD challenge over at EzineArticles it’s been a roller coaster ride. To be quite honest with you I’m not an article marketing expert. However, it is something I truly do want to become better at and it’s something that fits the profile of this blog and the way I want to do business really well.

Three things have led me to write this blog post today. A blog post with a somewhat weird title I’ll grant you, but this post is about something that’s really been on my mind today. First of all, you probably know that I’m participating in the 3rd HAHD challenge. You can find more information about my progress in the sidebar to the right. Secondly, I recently declared that I would take a week off to focus on developing an article writing application. And finally a friend of mine has run into some problems getting her articles approved recently.

Promoting your blog can seem like a task that can easily take up hours upon hours of your time every single day. Think about it! There are so many things you would like to do to promote your blog. This is only natural as every blogger wants his or her blog to be as successful as possible. On the other hand, there are only so many hours in a day. What’s the lesson here? Writing eBooks is one of my favorite endeavors. The first couple of times It can be a very scary prospect. There are many roadblocks along the way. Especially if you are a first time ebook writer, there is a great risk that your ebook will never reach its intended target audience. What should be in your article summary?

It’s otherwise known as an abstract or article teaser. The purpose of your article summary is to entice a potential reader to read the rest of your article. It’s a sales pitch for the benefits your article delivers and in many cases, it makes the difference as to whether your article gets read or bypassed.

Most authors are wasting their time producing dozens to hundreds of high quality articles that never reach a fraction of their traffic potential. It’s a darn shame.

My good friend Britt Malka forwarded a mail to me earlier today. She had received a mail about EzineArticles 3rd “100 Articles in 100 Days” challenge and told me that she had signed up. I had promised myself not to allow myself to get distracted from my new article directory project (more about that next week) and my content creation report (more about that tomorrow). In other words, I had a firm resolution to stick to my plan. So, the smart thing to do would be to stay out of the challenge.
