<p>Blogging is a powerful way to keep an internet audience informed with new and exciting news that&#8217;s happening in the world called the internet. Blogging is also an excellent way to build a constant flow of traffic to your website and develop a client base for your business. Blogging is not for everyone, because some people just don&#8217;t like the idea of having to set down and express themselves in any form of writing.</p>
<p>Blogging is only one of the powerful marketing tools that successful marketer has incorporated to some extent in their overall marketing strategies. Some enjoy the personal satisfaction of writing all of their own material strait from the heart while others choose to use the services of professional writer to write for them. Either way this form of communication with online users can be extremely powerful and productive.</p>
<p>Early on in your blogging experience you should set some realistic goals of where you want your blog to take your business. There are different areas of concern with different situations which we want to discuss in further detail.</p>
<p>Some choose to use blogging for communicating with their existing client base, while others use the medium of blogging to develop new clients. Whatever your reasons, you need to take advantage of the easiest, most effective methods to accomplish your marketing goals.</p>
<p>Some use blogging simply to inform their client base about new and /or updated company news. This is a quick, easy and simple non threatening method of accomplishing that goal.</p>
<p>Others use blogs to answer questions, discuss guides and guidelines for their products, services and almost anything else relevant to their company. Some will even use blogs to include ads as well as other methods of marketing to promote their business opportunity.</p>
<p>Once you know where you want your blogs to go and what you want to accomplish with your blogs, the sooner you start this process, the quicker you will start seeing some positive results.</p>
<p>I have had excellent results with the Google Blogger format. There are numerous plug ins and widgets that will make your blogging experience more effective. Blogs are one of my favorite marketing tools to build and earn &#8220;Top Positions on Google&#8221; and other fine search engines. Having multiple blogs using different keywords in the title can become extremely effective for earning those top spots. The beauty of using the Google Blogs is that they are free.</p>
<p>Do some serious research and see which blogging format is best suited for you and your needs, as well as which blog will help you to accomplish your marketing goals the easiest and quickest ways. Not all blogs are alike, so compare the features and benefits of each, and choose wisely.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re going to be using photos, videos, and other forms of media make sure your choice of blogging formats includes these add ons. Some formats will allow embed videos and slide shows in the sidebars. If you feel that you may want to include these features in the future…. then by all means choose a format that will support these features now. These features may be effective to capture the attention of the online user; however, the search engines are interested in good relevant content for their page ranking algorithms. Try to deliver a well balanced blog that will appeal to both the user and search engines.</p>
<p>Many companies use their blogs to get the information in front of the general public on special featured products that may be part of a promotional campaign for a particular month. They use the blog to point customers to the main website for further information. The overall objective is to make money and whatever way you choose to accomplish those goals is important to your success….the end result is what you need to look at and what tools is required to make it happen.</p>
<p>Consider add-ons such as bookmarking plug-ins, RSS feeds and other useful features that will make your blog easy to recommend to other users. You will start experiencing some powerful results from this method of marketing that you never thought was possible. Post as often as possible and regularly to get the maximum effectiveness. Set a goal for every day, every other day or maybe once per week, but post to your blog(s) consistently. If new products or services become available then post that information as soon as possible. Keeping your regular followers informed will develop into a steady flow of income if handled correctly.</p>
<p>One word of caution here is to provide good information about your market in general and not so much advertising for a specific product your trying to promote. Make sure you offer two or three links to your business opportunity at the bottom of your blog. The user likes to know how to get hold of you. Make it easy for them to find you without having to hunt and search for your contact information on past blogs or articles.</p>
<p>Having a log on your blog is one of the features I like on the Google Blogger format. This makes it easy for the reader to go back and find a blog or article of interest without having to spend a lot of time searching for your information.</p>
<p>In any business blog, it is recommended you refrain from posting your personal feelings, religious beliefs and political opinions, so keep them to yourself. Some people may agree with your feelings and beliefs, however, many are turned off when you mix these issues into a business environment. If you want to express your opinions then start another blog or post to another blog designed to cover such issues.</p>
<p>In your business blog, confine your information to news and comments about the industry that your blog is about. If you see a video, read an article, review a blog with pertinent information about your industry then sit down and write about your findings and comments in your blog about this new found information, and how it affects your business opportunity and benefits your clients.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve been thinking about writing a book for a long time, then you&#8217;re definitely not alone. It&#8217;s one of those projects that can easily be put off so more immediate things can get done. I know I tend to put things off (especially big things) unless I have a compelling reason to do it now.</p>
<p>For example, we&#8217;ve been talking about adding a garage onto our house since we moved in (years ago!). We never had a compelling reason to take on such a big project until we found out we were having another child. Then we knew we needed the extra space, and the garage became a priority. Now we have a garage!</p>
<p>A client of mine, another example, had put her book off for years until she found out one of her colleague/competitors was doing a book. Suddenly, she realized she&#8217;d be left behind if she didn&#8217;t get hers done too. As silly as that may sound, it&#8217;s a pretty compelling reason to stop thinking and start doing.</p>
<p>Today, for many self-employed professionals, the biggest priority on our list is getting clients and taking action to ensure our business stays successful for the long-term. For many, the past year or so has been a real struggle, and those who&#8217;ve survived the downturn don&#8217;t want to do that again. <p>One respondent even said she&#8217;d never had a shortage of clients since writing and publishing her book. These statistics have been out for a year or so, but they&#8217;re still amazing! Particularly when self-employed professionals, coaches, and consultants are looking for ways ensure long-term success for their business.</p>
<p>A book has always been, and will always be, one of the most powerful marketing tools you can use to attract attention to yourself and your business. I tell people all the time, &#8220;Nothing says &#8216;expert&#8217; like a book.&#8221; It not only helps you get out there, but it also allows you to share your experiences and expertise with more people who really need your help.</p>
<p>So what can you do right now to make progress and get your book done? Start with one small thing. Pull out your calendar and schedule an hour of writing time. Take twenty minutes to brainstorm everything you want to cover in your book. Flip to a fresh page in your journal, let your imagination go, and free-write your big vision for your book-including celebrity endorsements, national TV appearances, and raving book reviews.</p>

<p>Blogging is as common today as owning a cell phone or laptop. Most people with even a little bit of internet savvy have a blog nowadays. Blogs have become more than just online diaries. They are legitimate tools for marketing, and have a huge impact on shaping public opinion. Some top blogs (and bloggers) have earned rockstar fame and are among the most visited sites on the planet (such as Huffington Post, TechCrunch, etc.). No wonder most people want to start a blog and have the same kind of success.</p>
<p>However, there are a few things one must be wary of as a new blogger. The art of blogging has evolved over the years and there is now a distinct culture associated with it. Here are a few newbie mistakes most people make (and that you should avoid):</p>
<p>1. No PlagiarismIn blogging culture, the biggest mistake you could make is to use somebody else&#8217;s work without proper attribution. If you are using a news story from New York Times, include a link back to the main site. If you are using a part of a fellow blogger&#8217;s post, always link back to the original. Plagiarism not only violates the &#8216;blogger code&#8217; but is also an infrigement of copyright.</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t Expect Immediate SuccessThere are four ways a new blog can gain traffic &#8211; paid (through advertising), organic (through search engines), direct (through people typing in your site address into their browser), and referral (traffic from links on other sites).<br />Except for paid traffic, all other forms take some time to develop. Search engines can take weeks to months to rank your blog high enough for visitors to see it. Other sites will link to your blog only if they know about it (which is largely through search engines), and direct traffic is only through people who like your site well enough to remember the address. Therefore, traffic takes time to build up. Don&#8217;t make a post and except thousands of visitors to come pouring in. You have to work for at least 2-3 months before you can see any significant traffic.</p>
<p>3. Not Caring for the ReaderYour blog is only as good as the number  (and kind) of audience it attracts. The common mistake is to completely ignore the reader by not responding to comments or writing about subjects your visitors don&#8217;t like or appreciate. If you want to keep them coming back for more, you will have to give them what they want. <br />These are 3 very common blogging mistakes which, unfortunately, almost every new blogger makes. Don&#8217;t fall victim to them if you want to be a blogging rockstar.</p>

<p>However, Having said that there are a number of things you can do to make sure your blog name is as good as it can be. Why does it even matter? Is the name of your blog really that important?<span id="more-552"></span></p>
<p>Yes!</p>
<p>The blog name is the first thing a potential visitor will see, and it will to a great degree determine whether or not he will decide to visit your blog! So if you have a name in mind for your blog that&#8217;s great! However, I would strongly recommend that you run it through these 6 steps to find out whether or not you are setting your blog up to fail!</p>
<p><strong>1. Think Of A Clear And Descriptive Name.</strong><br />
The most important thing is to make sure that the name of your blog gets the message across! If the name is not clear about the actual purpose and content of the blog you will not get as much traffic as you want!<br />

2. Make Sure The Name Tells The Reader What To Expect.</strong><br />
As touched upon in the previous point it is really important that you give the blog a name that tells the reader exactly what yo expect. If you can&#8217;t do that in the blog name itself, at least make sure you have a tag line that is descriptive. In Wordpress it is very easy to set up the tag line of the blog. In fact, you just enter your tag line in the &#8220;tagline&#8221; field in the general settings.</p>
<p><strong>3. Clever Is Good, Clarity Is Better!</strong><br />
So, just to make it perfectly clear the blog name must do its utmost to make the visitor aware of the blogs content and purpose. However, if you can do that while still coming up with a clever or funny name that&#8217;s just perfect. If you can manage to put a smile on your potential visitors face that&#8217;s a great way to build a relationship. Clarity is still more important!</p>
<p><strong>4. Consider The Branding Potential Of Your Blog Name.</strong><br />
If you are running a business you want to make sure that you get the most out of your blog. One of the ways to do that is to make sure that your blog helps brand your business. The name is a very important aspect of that!</p>

A viral name for your blog is something that can really skyrocket your traffic stats. Coming up with that kind of name is extremely difficult though so this step is definitely optional.</p>

Another way to enhance the traffic stats of your blog is to take advantage of current events. This can really boost your blog, but you need to make sure that the blog name is still &#8220;evergreen&#8221; in nature. In other words, you need to make sure that the blog name is still golden in 5 years from now!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday  at 3pm EST I made  my first  attempt  at writing  8 articles  in just  one  hour  using  Jason  Fladliens <a href="http://instantcontentcreation.com/?e=hebsgaard ">7 Minute Article</a> system. Although I only managed  to write  4 articles  during  the challenge, I have to say it was a resounding success. The fact is that I rarely manage to get that many articles done in one hour. In fact, I&#8217;m certain that if I had continued for another hour, I would  have been  able  to easily write more  than 4 articles. By the  end  of the challenge, I was  &#8220;in the  zone&#8221;.<span id="more-549"></span></p>
<p>What I discovered was that once I let my brain take a hike and allowed my fingers to do the work my speed was vastly increased!</p>
<p>So, doesn&#8217;t that hurt the quality of the articles? A fair question, but no I don&#8217;t think so. The key to the system is using the same research material over and over. Therefore, the more articles you write using the same research the better you know your material. This is a key element to improving your efficiency!</p>
<p>What was stopping me then? Well, aside from my brain stopping me in the beginning, I obviously didn&#8217;t know the templates well enough! This is something that will definitely improve with a bit of practice, but no doubt knowing the templates by heart is a key element. I had to think a bit too much about how to approach each template every time I started writing a new article.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s the future of the #8Hours1Article challenge? Personally I would love to make this an event that takes place every week. And it would also be great if more people would join me. The truth is I set it up with very short notice and hopefully more people will be ready to join me next week!</p>

Clever has it&#8217;s place, but if it doesn&#8217;t include clarity don&#8217;t even think about it!</p>

A clever blog name can be really great, but if it is so clever that nobody gets what your blog is about, they simply won&#8217;t visit it!</p>
