			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday  at 3pm EST I made  my first  attempt  at writing  8 articles  in just  one  hour  using  Jason  Fladliens <a href="http://instantcontentcreation.com/?e=hebsgaard ">7 Minute Article</a> system. Although I only managed  to write  4 articles  during  the challenge, I have to say it was a resounding success. The fact is that I rarely manage to get that many articles done in one hour. In fact, I&#8217;m certain that if I had continued for another hour, I would  have been  able  to easily write more  than 4 articles. By the  end  of the challenge, I was  &#8220;in the  zone&#8221;.<span id="more-549"></span></p>
<p>What I discovered was that once I let my brain take a hike and allowed my fingers to do the work my speed was vastly increased!</p>
<p>So, doesn&#8217;t that hurt the quality of the articles? A fair question, but no I don&#8217;t think so. The key to the system is using the same research material over and over. Therefore, the more articles you write using the same research the better you know your material. This is a key element to improving your efficiency!</p>
<p>What was stopping me then? Well, aside from my brain stopping me in the beginning, I obviously didn&#8217;t know the templates well enough! This is something that will definitely improve with a bit of practice, but no doubt knowing the templates by heart is a key element. I had to think a bit too much about how to approach each template every time I started writing a new article.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s the future of the #8Hours1Article challenge? Personally I would love to make this an event that takes place every week. And it would also be great if more people would join me. The truth is I set it up with very short notice and hopefully more people will be ready to join me next week!</p>

I&#8217;ll be using Jason Fladliens <a href="http://instantcontentcreation.com/?e=hebsgaard ">7 Minute Article</a> system to accomplish this. You can follow my progress on Twitter where I&#8217;ll be using the following hash-tag: <a href="http://twitter.com/#search?q=%238Articles1Hour">#8Article1Hour</a>.<span id="more-533"></span>I may not reach the ultimate goal of writing 8 articles in 1 hour, but if I don&#8217;t challenge myself to do it I know for certain that it won&#8217;t happen! This is a challenge I plan on giving myself at least once a week to improve my article writing speed. The <a href="http://instantcontentcreation.com/?e=hebsgaard ">7 Minute Article</a> system has a huge potential. Jason Fladlien explains how the same research can be used for 8 different types of articles. In his example he spends a total of 59 minutes writing those 8 articles.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s impressive!</p>
<p>Do I expect to copy his feat today? No, not at all. In fact, I&#8217;d be surprised if I did. However, the goal is to train myself to get as close to that target as possible. Imagine being able to write 8 article every single hour! If you do that just 5 hours a day that&#8217;s 40 brand new original articles every single day!</p>

<p>Article Marketing is the number one source of free traffic on the Internet if you get your Resource Box right. Get this one wrong and you have wasted all your time. Get this one right and you have got it made!<span id="more-522"></span></p>
<p><strong>What a Resource Box really is</strong></p>
<p>Call it a Resource Box, Author Bio, etc., what it really is is your opportunity to create a compelling call to action for your reader. Even though it is called an Author Bio, it is not the time for you to tell the reader all about you and convince them you are an expert. In fact, if you have not demonstrated that you are an expert in your article, it is way to late too try to do it now.</p>
<p>Even though it is an official Call to Action, I like to teach my students and members to use what I call &#8220;invitational language&#8221; in their Resource Box. Invitational language can be something as simple as &#8220;and now I would like to invite you to&#8230;&#8221; and then name the next action you would like them to take. This is as opposed to something like &#8220;get this great new product now and all your problems will be solved by morning and if you don&#8217;t you will be broke forever!&#8221;</p>
<p>Sure I&#8217;ve exaggerated a bit, but not by much.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s how to do it</strong></p>
<p>You want the Resource Box to flow right out of your article, since it is the next paragraph in the article. Starting off with &#8220;Jim Smith is blah blah blah&#8221; is like announcing to the reader that the article is over and they can stop reading now. Not the result you want at all, right?</p>
<p>Instead you can start off with a nice transitional phrase beginning with the word &#8220;and.&#8221; For example, &#8220;And now I would like to&#8230;&#8221; or &#8220;And now you can&#8230;&#8221; is a great way to begin.</p>
<p>Then, back to my notion of invitational language, you simply invite the reader to take the next action you want them to take. For example, you can say &#8220;And now you can claim your free instant access to&#8230;&#8221; whatever it is you are going to offer them. The invitational language brings them in instead of chasing them off.</p>
<p>Then and only then do I ever mention my name, and then only so that the good information they are about to get is linked in their mind to my name and brand.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Since I decided to take part in the HAHD challenge over at EzineArticles it&#8217;s been a roller coaster ride. To be quite honest with you I&#8217;m not an article marketing expert. However, it is something I truly do want to become better at and it&#8217;s something that fits the profile of this blog and the way I want to do business really well.</p>
<p>As I said, I&#8217;m not an article marketing expert. So, what do you do when that&#8217;s the case? You study what those who are successful in the field do!<span id="more-478"></span></p>
<p>That&#8217;s exactly what I&#8217;ve been doing since the beginning of the HAHD challenge. What I&#8217;ve learned is that there are apparently many ways to be successful in article marketing. That by itself is not a big surprise. There is always more than one way to reach your goal. The tricky part is when you have to decide on your own approach to article marketing!</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;ve been taking a good look at the articles I have published so far and I still have doubts as to the best approach to article marketing. Therefore, it&#8217;s clear to me that I have to draw a line and define a system that will work for me. A system that takes the best from each of the systems I have employed and studied!</p>
<p>The starting point of putting this system together will have to be the most system I have had the most success with so far! That system is &#8220;<a href="http://hebsgaard.ezdominate.hop.clickbank.net">EzineArticles Dominator</a>&#8221; by Rob Howard. As far as my success rate is concerned this system wins by a clear margin. The articles I have written using this system have the most views and the highest click through rate by a huge margin!</p>
<p>However, this system is heavily focused on getting results with each individual article. If there is anything it lacks it&#8217;s an overall article marketing strategy. I was fortunate to get a copy of &#8220;Crush, Kill and Destroy: The Guide To EzineArticles Domination&#8221; by the Rhodes Brothers before they took it off the market. Don&#8217;t worry about googling it, they have taken the sales page down by now. This product contains long term strategies for article marketing in spades. So, I&#8217;ll base my long term strategy on that product.</p>
<p>Finally, I&#8217;ll take a close look at Jason Fladliens &#8220;<a href="http://instantcontentcreation.com/?e=hebsgaard">7 Minute Article</a>&#8221; (especially the bonuses) for inspiration on saving time on research. Combining these 3 things will make for a killer combo that will get me to 100 submitted articles in no time flat.</p>
<p>One last thing I&#8217;ll do is this: I will be very thorough in my proof-reading. I&#8217;m not a platinum member at EzineArticles yet and I really want to achieve that next time I&#8217;m up for approval!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As you may know I&#8217;m participating in the <a href="http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2009/12/3rd-hahd-begins.html">HAHD challenge</a>. You can see my progress in the sidebar on the right. So far I have 18 articles submitted and approved for the challenge, which puts me on track as of today. However, I&#8217;ve decided to take a week off from writing further articles in order to speed up the process!</p>
<p><strong>Doesn&#8217;t make sense you say? Read on!</strong><br />

Well, I have loads of methods, tools and learning material related to speeding up my writing. What I do need, however, is a tool that connects all these things. Having to tap and search through a dozen windows and files every time I write a new article just doesn&#8217;t do it for me. Fortunately, I&#8217;m a software developer by trade. That means I have the skillset to do something about this problem. I can create the tool I want to speed up the task at hand.</p>
<p><strong>And that&#8217;s exactly what I&#8217;m going to do!</strong></p>
<p>There are 3 main things I want in the prototype of this application, besides a text editor, and these 3 things are:</p>
<ol>
<li>Direct Swipe File Access</li>
<li>Direct Article Template Access</li>
<li>Direct Research Document Access</li>
</ol>
<p>My definition of direct access is that I can insert any of these 3 things by the click of <strong>one</strong> button! There are a lot of other neat features I&#8217;d like to incorporate in the future such as build-in research capabilities, published article analysis, article publishing capabilites and so on. However, one thing I will not (ever!) incorporate is spinning capabilities. I want this to be a tool to create original content and only original content. This is something for the future though. For the time being only the 3 listed features will be implemented. I will allow myself to spend a week implementing these features. No more and no less!</p>
<p>By the end of the week I will continue writing and submitting articles for the <a href="http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2009/12/3rd-hahd-begins.html">HAHD challenge</a> whether those 3 features are ready or not! Hopefully this will help speed up the writing process, but even if it doesn&#8217;t I&#8217;ll be one or two experiences richer.</p>

<p>What should be in your article summary?</p>
<p>It&#8217;s otherwise known as an <em>abstract</em> or <em>article teaser</em>. The purpose of your article summary is to entice a potential reader to read the rest of your article. It&#8217;s a sales pitch for the benefits your article delivers and in many cases, it makes the difference as to whether your article gets read or bypassed.</p>
<p>Remove your &#8220;author/writer&#8221; hat and put on your &#8220;copywriter&#8221; thinking cap:</p>

<p><strong>Here&#8217;s what should be in your article summary:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Should be 2-7 sentences in length</li>
<li>Emotional benefits listed that speak directly to your target reader&#8217;s interests.</li>
<li>Reasons why your target ideal reader should continue reading your article.</li>
<li>Mentions of at least 4-7 keywords relating to your article topic using keyword research tools.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s what should not be in your article summary:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Do not repeat the title of your article or your author name in your summary. This is redundant.</li>
<li>Leave out the sales pitch for yourself or your business.</li>
<li>Leave out your URL and email address.</li>
<li>Leave out any blatant self-promotion. You&#8217;re here to do blatant article-promotion, not self- promotion.</li>
<li>Never more than 2 paragraphs or 14 sentences.</li>
</ul>
<p>7 Quick Tips To Help You Write Your Perfect Article Summary:</p>
<p>Tip #1) Don&#8217;t start it with words like &#8220;This article contains this or that.&#8221; Get right to the point and playfully tease your audience with the benefits that they will get if they take the next step to read the rest of your article.</p>
<p>Tip #2) If you don&#8217;t know what to put in your summary &#8212; use the first paragraph of your article. If you&#8217;re a good writer, you already have your first paragraph loaded with hooks to grab the reader&#8217;s interests to pull them into the rest of the article.</p>
<p>Tip #3) Your article conclusion paragraph can help provide clues for what should be in your article summary. Just don&#8217;t give away the farm in the summary.</p>
<p>Tip #4) Your article summary is about the WHY, not the HOW. Sell them on why what you&#8217;re presenting in the article is important to them and that they will learn the &#8220;how&#8221; if they continue reading.</p>
<p>Tip #5) Keep tips and strategies OUT of your article summary. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. You&#8217;re in sales mode, not teach mode.</p>
<p>Tip #6) Use smart keyword density research to ensure your article summary hits the key terms and keywords relating to your article. The worst thing you could do is include an article summary that uses 1-3 syllable words that barely mention your topic category. Be lavish with the rich use of buzz words and keywords that are related to your primary article topic. One word of caution: Write for the reader and not for the search engines. When you cross that line, you reduce your effectiveness over the long-term.</p>
<p>Tip #7) Originality matters. Your article summary should come from your brain. Never copy someone else&#8217;s article summary or style if it&#8217;s unique to them.</p>
<p><strong>Creating Your Perfect Article Summary Conclusion:</strong></p>
<p>Be brief and bold in your summary – promising the benefits your reader will get if they read on. This is your chance to pitch why your target reader will benefit personally if they continue reading your article. Unlike your resource box where you pitch yourself and your business or website address, the article summary is your article&#8217;s only sales pitch. Leverage it well and don&#8217;t waste the opportunity by overlooking this important article writing &amp; marketing strategy.</p>

<p>Most authors are wasting their time producing dozens to hundreds of high quality articles that never reach a fraction of their traffic potential. It&#8217;s a darn shame.</p>
<p>When I review the behind-the-scenes traffic statistics on over 20,000 articles that have produced over 1 million monthly page views in my article marketing lab&#8230;ONE thing is clear: All articles are not created equal even when everything about them is identical except for the TITLE.</p>
<p><strong>The reason is probably not what you think.<span id="more-442"></span></strong></p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve been schooled on traditional copywriting, you know that in the offline world, the headline determines as much as 95% of the success of the book or article. This statistic takes into consideration what makes the book title successful: Whether a human buys it or not.</p>
<p>Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them.</p>
<p><strong>MYTH:</strong> Most people will read your articles because they came to a website and started browsing just like they do if they were to have gone to a local book store to find a book of personal interest.</p>
<p><strong>FACT: </strong>Wrong! Most people will search the Internet using one of the major search engines and they will be putting in between 1 to 5 keywords that are related to the topic of the article or information they are looking to locate. The search engines will then deliver results that best match the human&#8217;s interest.</p>
<p><strong>YOUR GOAL: </strong>To have your articles show up in the search engine results for the keywords and topics that are most related to the content of your article.</p>
<p>HOW?</p>
<p><strong>You must embrace this TITLE creation &amp; traffic-building truth:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>The first 3-5 words of your TITLE determine the success of your article in terms of how much traffic your article will generate back to your website. Success can only be had when you create keyword rich titles for your articles that match the most commonly searched keywords for your topic.</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>How to determine which keywords are rich and the right ones to use for your article?</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll need a keyword research tool. Some are free and some are fee-based. Overture.com has a popular keyword research tool that shows you the most common search results from the Yahoo search engines directory. If you want to see what&#8217;s on &#8220;Google&#8217;s Mind&#8221; you can try one of their current beta tools called &#8220;Google Suggest&#8221;:</p>

<p>Whether you use a web-based keyword research tool or invest in one of the more advanced application level software keyword research tools, it&#8217;s critical that you learn know how to do keyword research.</p>
<p><strong>A &#8220;Good&#8221; vs. &#8220;Bad&#8221; TITLE Example:</strong></p>
<p>Here is an example of the difference between a non-keyword rich TITLE vs. a very keyword rich TITLE that is proven to perform better in terms of traffic creation:</p>
<p><strong>Bad TITLE Example:</strong></p>
<p><em>&#8220;Top 9 Ways You Can Acquire Fractional Jet Ownership&#8221;</em></p>
<p><strong>Excellent Keyword Rich Title Example:</strong></p>
<p><em>Fractional Jet Ownership &#8211; 9 Strategies to Help You Acquire Your Private Jet </em></p>
<p><strong>Why is it more effective?</strong></p>
<p>Because it does not waste the first 3 words of the title with meaningless garbage words like &#8220;top&#8221; or the number &#8220;9&#8243; or &#8220;ways&#8221;&#8230;and gets right to the important words that might be found when someone is using a search engine to research a topic related to your article.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll also notice in my example that I included the word &#8220;Private&#8221; Jet. Why? Because my keyword research said that people who search for fractional jet also search for the word &#8220;private jet&#8221; and therefore I wanted to boost the chances that my title would be found by a larger number of potential visitors to the article.</p>
<p><strong>Two recommendations on what NOT to do:</strong></p>
<p>1) Don&#8217;t include garbage characters in your TITLE such as quotes, tildes, asterisks or anything else that a search engines has to work hard to discard in order to understand the TITLE of your article.</p>
<p>2) Do not engage in any search engine spam technique by having keyword rich TITLES that have nothing to do with the topic of your article. You&#8217;ll only be hurting yourself as the search engines already aggressively filter out bad behavior like this.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My good friend Britt Malka forwarded a mail to me earlier today. She had received a mail about <a href="http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2009/12/3rd-hahd-begins.html">EzineArticles 3rd &#8220;100 Articles in 100 Days&#8221; challenge</a> and told me that she had signed up. I had promised myself not to allow myself to get distracted from my new article directory project (more about that next week) and my content creation report (more about that tomorrow). In other words, I had a firm resolution to stick to my plan. So, the smart thing to do would be to stay out of the challenge.</p>
<p><span id="more-439"></span>As you have probably guessed I didn&#8217;t!</p>
<p>I just couldn&#8217;t pass the challenge. Writing 1 article a day for 100 days seems like a good way to get some article writing done.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not a bad idea though, and the reason I have decided to go for it is that it <em>does</em> fit my overall strategy for 2010. I hinted at parts of that strategy in the first paragraph and I&#8217;ll give you some more details next week.</p>
