An online presence is important these days for whatever enterprise you engage in. to connect with a wide variety of people there is no bigger forum than the Internet. If you are looking for a way to show off your expertise and also make a little money while doing it, consider starting a blog.

What is a Blog?

A blog is actually an online journal of sorts. With a blog you can upload daily posts about anything that you want. Some people create personal blogs as a way to keep in touch with family members. Pictures, videos and other information are uploaded so your loved ones are current with what is going on with you.

Depending on the site you choose, the themes and plug-ins (added features) will vary. Most will walk you through the process step by step so that you can be up and running in no time.

Before you start posting, decide what will be the theme, or niche of your blog. A jack-of-all-trades type of blog doesn’t do as well as one that is geared towards a certain niche. If you like crafts, that can be your niche. Create posts that talk about how to craft, what to craft, how to make crafting profitable and so on. Once you have decided on a path, it is time to create that great content.

How to Make Money

In order to make money with your blog, you need to have people visiting it. That is where marketing comes in. to draw traffic you have to get the word out about your blog. Tell all of your friends and family members that you are online with your blog for a start.

Any money-making venture will take place once you have built your readership with interesting posts. Then you can put into play a number of profitable additions:

•    Google AdSense
•    Selling Advertising
•    Affiliate Marketing
•    EBook Marketing

The simplest one to pursue is Google AdSense. You are using targeted advertisements to create revenue for your blog. You are paid per clicks on the ads.

There are other options where you can get paid when someone makes a sale on that website. That is more likely to happen when you join an affiliate program. Join affiliate program that work well with your website niche.

EBooks are short downloadable electronic books that you can create yourself and sell on your website. They can be on a variety of subjects but in order for them to sell, you must be able to offer new information to your customers.

Blogs can be used to build revenue. Start with your chosen niche and market your blog to find the traffic you need. Then, utilize these ideas to turn a profit.

Just a quick note to say that I changed the theme of the blog…again. I just didn’t like the old theme so I had to get rid of it right away.

However, you can expect another theme change in the not so far away future. I’m looking for a more permanent theme and will be looking to hire a theme designer to get my own unique theme.

I am currently encountering some problems with my Wordpress theme. I have installed a temporary theme so you can still read what’s going on, but you should expect it to change again pretty soon.

A you know I’m getting ready to send out the first in a series of free reports I’m doing. As part of the proof reading process I asked my good friend, fellow Internet marketer, Britt Malka to go through the report. Although I talked about how “good enough is good enough” yesterday I still don’t want to be pushing crap to people. I was, to say the least, surprised to hear her reaction to the report. Here’s the entirety of what she said:

I have a niche Twitter account, written under a pen name, and I didn’t really know what to write there. Now I do. Thanks to Mike’s report, I now know exactly what to do, where to start, what to write, and when. I will start immediately to put this plan into action.

It would be a huge understatement to say that I wasn’t shocked by her kind words. I ws planning on releasing it today, but she had a few questions about things in the report so I have decided to spend some time clarifying those issues. That’s the main reason it’s always a good idea to have someone else read through your material. Some things that may seem blatantly obvious to you won’t be for others. In the end it’s all about getting something out there that is as good as humanly possible without postponing it forever.

I expect to spend the next couple of days going through her questions and then release the report on Sunday or on Monday depending on the weekend schedule.

With the recent spur in activity and the new business plan I’m launching I felt it was time to change the look and feel of this blog. That process has now been finished with the creation of a new logo. The logo design is dead-simple and that’s just the way I want it.

The future of NetScribePro is at least 3 IM related posts each week and a new free report at least every two weeks. I’m trying to balance my ambitions with what’s reasonably possible. I feel this plan will do just that. If you check out the free reports page you will notice that there are no reports yet. That will change in a few days as I’m currently putting the finishing touches on my free Twitter traffic report.

These free reports will be short and sweet. There’s no need to force you to read through 100+ pages if I can give you all you need in 7 pages right?

The basic idea behind these reports is that I will spend some time gathering information about a specific topic and then put the main strategies together in a report you will be able to get just by signing up for my list. After you have signed up you will automatically be notified every time a new report is released.

It’s coming, I just have to do the voiceover for the video. A video that turned out to be more than 26 minutes of hard hitting article writing advice. However, I’m a video n00b so I’m still struggling a bit with the technical details of it. More specifically the voiceover and compressing it for the web.
